Well, two cities down and one to go. I arrived in Munich on Saturday night after some trouble at the airport in London. We did managed to meet up with my friend and old boss, Jeff, so now the group is up to three. We tried to meet up with Carl but he left Munich the day before we got there.
It’s been two days and so far we haven’t been able to sit down inside one of the beer tents because they are so crowded. Now that the weekend is over we should have a much easier time. In mean time, we’ve been going to smaller beer houses outside of the Oktoberfest fairgrounds. Fortunately, they’re still fun but nothing beats going to the big tents for the atmosphere.
London was fantastic. The last time I was there I only had a couple days to go sightseeing. This time I filled in all the gaps. I’m not sure there are any landmarks in London that we didn’t see. I got some great pics of all of them, including some great shots from observation carousel, the London Eye. Besides just seeing the sites, we also managed to some of smaller things that London is known for including some great Indian food and catching a showing of Les Miz. I was really considering see Chicago instead for the sole reason that David Hasselhoff was playing Billy Flynn!
Well, it’s time for me to head off to the beer tents. Hope all is well and that hurricane Jeanne isn’t going to effect Hilton Head too much.
Remember: Mind the Gap!

I’ve managed to survive Amsterdam and am now in London!
Amsterdam was a nice and relaxing visit. It’s a very slow town with not much to do but walk around and visit museums. I got some great pics of the canals and city at night (again you’ll have to wait until I get back). We visited the Van Gogh museum and walked around the city center and the red light district. Two very different experiences! =)
We arrived by plane into London yesterday and found out that Teresa friend that were supposed to stay with flaked on us. So, we found a cheap hotel that was more like a rat trap than anything else. It was so bad we checked out as soon as possible this morning and are heading to our nicer place now.
Don’t really have any specific plans for the day. We’ll probably hit all the touristy stuff and have a couple pints at the pub.
Hope everyone is doing well!
Cheers!

Well, after spending 11 hours on a plane and 3 hours on a train, I finally arrived in Amsterdam last night. So far I haven’t done too much. Yesterday, I had 4 hours after I landed in Frankfurt until the train to Amsterdam left so I wandered around the city for a while. At 1pm, I hopped onto the train and spent most of the time sleeping (much needed!).
After settling into the hotel, Teresa (my friend from work and travel companion) and I decided to have a relaxing night, so we just had dinner went to bed early. This morning, I woke up early (as usual) and did a little wandering around the neighborhood and got some breakfast. T joined me a little later and we have been walking around the City Center all day.
One thing I managed to forget was my USB cable for the camera so I won’t be able to upload in pictures while I go, so you’ll just have to settle for these little updates.
Everything is going great so far and I’m having a blast. Hope all is well in the States!
Ciao!
