NL “Worst” ruins All-Star game again

July 15th, 2009 Kevin No comments

Three pitchers from the NL West/Worst were responsible for all 4 runs (3 earned) from last night’s game. That makes it twice in 4 years that NL West pitchers ruined home field advantage for the National League. The other being the 2006 All-Star game where Penny gave up one run and Hoffman blew the save in the ninth.

New Addition On The Way

December 28th, 2008 Kevin 1 comment

There’s big news in the O’Brien household! Kelly and I are expecting our first baby! She is now 12 weeks pregnant and we’re expecting our new addition, nicknamed “The Niblet”, around July 12th. The “all-day” sickness has been pretty rough on Kelly so far but it seems like it’s starting to subside.

I’ve got the sonogram pictures up on the gallery and expect more every month. It should be a heckuva ride. =)

My dad got up on stage at the Ryman Auditorium, the original home of the Grand Ole Opry and belted out a tune. See it on YouTube:

Several changes to the site but would you notice

April 14th, 2007 Kevin No comments

I’ve made a couple changes to the site but you shouldn’t be able to notice what they are.

  1. I’ve moved hosting providers. I used to have my own linux co-located in a secret datacenter somewhere in LA. However, my free-loading days are over and I had to move to hosting provider. I’d tell you which one but I want to see how good they are before I start plugging them.
  2. I’ve migrated the blog from MovableType to Wordpress. So far, I’m impressed with Wordpress. I’m not much of a blogger but it’s got a lot of features I find useful.
  3. I’ve moved my mail to Google Apps. It allows me to use the Gmail interface for my mail and get Google’s SPAM protection. So far, so good.

Hopefully none of these changes you will actually notice, because if you do then I didn’t do my job very well. :-)
